Rainforest Rescue
A Globe Defenders Adventure
When Jess and Jack Rayworth move into foster care in a small country town and start at Hilltop Academy Secondary School, they soon discover that the school is not what it seems. The unnerving and mysterious headmistress Dr Varnish clearly has something to hide and the pupils are far too quiet and very strange.
Soon they discover Hilltop is not a school at all. It is really a front for a global network of operatives who exist to defend the planet from environmental attacks coordinated by a shadowy organisation called The Lobby.
But as they begin their training to join the network, Jess overhears a conversation that gives her some clues as to what happened to their parents. Determined to uncover the truth they stow aboard a transport with their new friends and are unwittingly shot straight into an adventure in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil.
There they must battle the criminals who are set on destroying the forest and rescue an undiscovered tribe from certain death.
If they succeed, they will become Globe Defenders.

The Globe Defenders
The aim of the Globe Defenders trilogy is to highlight genuine ecological issues to children in an exciting adventure story. The story is written primarily from the point of view of Jess Rayworth a 13 year old girl whose parents were taken away when she was 10 years old.
Throughout the books Dr Varnish acts as a reminder that there is no magic wand or technological solution to the problem and that behaviour of individuals and their choices are what will ultimately change the world.
Rainforest Rescue is the first book of a trilogy which sees Jess and Jack Rayworth progress in their training with the Globe Defenders whilst trying to unlock the mystery of what happened to their parents.
Each of the three books has an environmental challenge that is based in fact and will see the children using the technology of the Globe Defenders Association with help from local people to find solutions.
